With just 65 days left till the Opening Ceremony of London 2012 Games, LEGO honors the men and women of Team GB with a collectable Team GB Minifigures. Available on in the UK, the set highlights athletes from nine different sports, all in variation of the Team GB uniforms (not in ones designed by Stella McCartney and adidas for licensing reason). The figures are set to go on sale at select LEGO retailers within Great Britain on July 1st for around £1.99 each. via: ToysNBricks

Opening ceremonies were pretty cool. Tough to top Beijing, but the Chinese had a huge advantage in being able to contract inexpensive workers. London would have had to spend a fortune to put on the same show. Surprised they left out Elton John in their tribute to British musicians. Seemed to be intentional to me to leave him out. Wonder why…
