Is it cliché to call Juicy J’s latest video trippy?
The visuals for his new song “Yet” place the Three 6 Mafia spitter in front of a set of staticky TV screens. He appears to be mesmerized, when he’s not performing the lyrics to the track. A montage of graphic images—including a buck with a rifle and a barely dressed woman—appear when he touches the screens. The Jonathan Andrade-directed visuals appear to be simple in essence but there may be a more in-depth meaning behind them. Juicy is still prepping his Kemosabe/Columbia/Taylor Gang Records album Stay Trippy, which hits stores Aug. 27.
In addition to a host of new features, Apple‘s upcoming iOS update, iOS 7, comes with a long over-due redesign of its user interface. While the layout and the paths will be the same, the update brings about a host of new icons, buttons, drop-downs, and toggles that look very new and different. And the same goes for its color scheme, which some have criticized as being too colorful and lively, especially following the more straight-forward iOS 6 design. While we may not know exactly where designer Jonathan Ive drew his inspiration, Max Wohllerber puts forth his guess on where it came from in this funny and tongue-in-cheek short video. Watching it will only take a few seconds and it’s definitely worth it for some laughs. In all seriousness, iOS 7 is expected to release later this year.
Ahead of the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans‘ start later on this morning, Aston Martin and its Aston Martin Racing division unveiled the new Gulf racing livery on car #97 Vantage GTE earlier this week. Created by Jonathan Wesley of Kettering, U.K., the design won during a competition that saw hundreds of entries. Based on Wesley’s central theme of “daylight to dusk,” the vibrant stripes of color represent the Gulf corporate emblem speeding by during the race. The new livery also marks Gulf Oil International‘s renewal in its support of Aston Martin Racing by agreeing to a new three-year sponsorship deal. The substantial backing allows Aston Martin to enter a total of five Vantage GTEs, three in the LMGTE Pro class and two in the LMGTE Am class, at this year’s 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans. And already, the teams are seeing positive results with #99 and #97 taking 1 and 2 pole positions among the LMGTE Pro, #95 with lead pole position in LMGTE Am.

Along with his newly minted title as “Dad” to his newborn daughter over the weekend, Kanye West is having “the best week ever” now that his sixth studio album, Yeezus, is finally available. In light of the album’s official launch today, West uploaded a short film as promotion. Previewed earlier at a listening party in Los Angeles, the video is a new take on Bret Easton Ellis‘ 1991 novel American Psycho (as well as the 2000 film starring Christian Bale). With reality TV personality Scott Disick reprising the role of serial killer Patrick Bateman, the film also features fellow “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum Jonathan Cheban. Both an odd and dark fantasy, the NSFW video is on view after the jump. In the meantime, Kanye West’s Yeezus is now available for purchase here.

Japanese comic artist, Hirohiko Araki, debuted his smash hit comic series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, 26 years ago, cementing his creative vision in animation history. To commemorate the anniversary, Araki joined hands with CONVERSE to produce this collaboration Chuck Taylor All Star. Its leather tongue tag is marked the text “Phantom Blood” embossed on it, a reference to the name of its first chapter. The star inside the ankle patch was colored in purple to mimic the star-shaped birthmark found on Jonathan Joestar, the main character of the comic. Pre-order of these shoes will start on Monday, May 20, 2013 at select CONVERSE retailers in Japan.
