Rapper Nicki Minaj is one busy MC. Not only has she been penning new music, but she’s also been hard at work creating a fresh fragrance. The latter was on display recently, and Minaj admitted she’s hoping her new scent will sell just as well as her first, Pink Friday.
According to People magazine, the follow-up perfume, Minajesty, is a mix of peach, tiger orchid and “fluffy vanilla,” helping women smell sweet and desirable. The MC shared her thoughts on the scent and why she knows her fans will love it.
“Minajesty … is sultry, captivating and powerful,” Minaj told the publication. “There is a sexy power behind having self-confidence. I want this fragrance to invite my Barbz [fans] to celebrate their glamorous side, live in the moment and be outrageous knowing that true power comes from within.”
Perhaps it was Minajesty that put DJ Kahled under a love spell recently. The world renowned DJ proposed to Minaj during a recent appearance on MTV. Even though Kahled claimed the proposal and diamond ring were real, Minaj later ended the rumors by admitting Kahled had created the stunt to promote his new album, and that they are not romantically involved in any way.

In light of the Zimmerman verdict and polarizing debates on racial profiling, civil rights and the justice system, Pharoahe Monch releases “Stand Your Ground.”
Originally intended for his upcoming PTSD LP, the W.A.R. emcee chose to release the rough version today to encourage people to “get involved.”
Produced by Lee Stone, Monche utilizes hip-hop as a platform for political engagement, shedding light on the highly controversial law used to protect George Zimmerman, giving the power back to the people collectively and defensively against an unjust government system which protestors took to many squares and church pulpits. This potent, aggressive, hard-hitting track finds Monch speaking about the Florida Law of the same name. Listen below. —Andrew Asare
