Before you get amped up, this is only a rumor right now – but Kanye West might have a clothing line in the works with Adidas/Y-3. According to Complex magazine, he casually mentioned that he inked the deal just a week and a half ago while talking to Philadelphia’s Wired 96.5. The name for the line? YEEZI.
This news doesn’t come as a total shock, as the rapper spent a lot of time at the 2014 Mercedes Benz NYNW show. While there, he got close to the Y-3 lead designer Yohji Yamamoto, generating some buzz that they may be teaming up. Still, no one knows for sure if his collaboration is with the three stripes.
Complex noted that Adidas already has hip hop ties. In fact, the company has worked with the likes of Run DMC, Big Sean, Snoop Dogg and A$AP Rocky, among other big names. Plus, the company has a history of collaborating with respected fashion designers, something that ‘Ye aspires to be.
What do you hope to see out of YEEZI?
